
Max Verstappen is, by all measurable human standards, catastrophically bad at giving gifts.
This is not speculation. It is a widely accepted, paddock-wide fact.
There was the multi-tool incident, of course...presented with absolute sincerity to a teammate who had, in fact, asked for nothing more complicated than “maybe a nice hoodie.”
He doesn’t understand sentimentality. He doesn’t understand symbolism. If something is useful, it is a good gift. If it is not useful, it is pointless.
This is how Max thinks.
This is why Carlos Sainz does not, at first, question it.
